The Beginning

  • 1978
       

    1978 - 

    Stage Front is Born

    Founder Steve Stephens, makes his first sale, selling lighting fixtures to the Ken James Band. A 500 sqft space is opened on Charlton Street in downtown Savannah, GA.

  • 1980
       

    1980 - 

    Making the Move

    Launching integrated services required more space. In 1980, we moved into a 3,200 sqft facility on Indian Street overlooking the Savannah river.

    1985 - 

    Dream Team

    Scott Stephens and Mike Reynolds join the team, collectively wearing many hats for the ensuing 35 years ahead!

    1991 - 

    …let there be
    Lighting Systems!

    Our reputation and relationships in performing arts were opening doors across the southeast. Our ability to reliably self-perform design and integration led to projects such as Carolina Opry, Dixie Jubilee, Gatlin Bros. Theater, Alabama Theater, Charleston Music Hall, Southern Country Nights, Dollywood Celebrity Theater, Hershey Park Music Box Theater, Hard Rock Amphitheater, and Elvis Presley’s Memphis. It was a bright chapter in the story of Stage Front!

    1994 - 

    Nice Smile

    The Medical College of Georgia Dental School called… and so we designed our first pre-clinical simulation laboratory AV solution. Little did we know of the opportunities that lie ahead! Fast forward 25 years and Stage Front has designed 50+ dental schools throughout the United States, Canada and Central America. And yes… we’re still smiling!

    2005 - 

    New Acquisitions

    The opportunity of P. Mazo Sound was presented and we were fortunate to acquire them and open a new office.

  • 2008
       

    2008 - 

    Dirty Thirty

    After 30 years, Stage Front is recognized as a powerhouse in audio-visual design. We also had the opportunity to expand into Charleston & Atlanta.

  • 2016
       

    2016 - 

    Leading the Way

    Chase Nelson was announced as a new owner, leading the way as President of Stage Front.

  • 2021
       

    2021 - 

    Expanded Offerings

    Charlotte based AJT Technology joins the Stage Front family. Todd Hill, founder of AJT, and his team of designers provide expertise in low voltage-based solutions allowing Stage Front to expand capabilities beyond AV for the first time in our 40+ year history. It’s an addition that enables more value for our partners that take us to market!
